Employee Focus: Justina, Site Administrator

Justina started with Torque just over three years ago and is based at our Wigan site. She loves the challenges her role as Site Administrator provide her, with no day ever being the same. Her job can see her doing everything from Health & Safety implementations across sites, organising agency staff and helping employees with their queries, she's always the go to person! She shares advice and insight on what it takes to work as an administrator for such a large warehouse and explains why if she could have someone at a dinner party she's throwing, it'd be the Terminator himself, Arnie.

``Be prepared to deal with anything that comes your way. If you are not prepared, be prepared to learn on the way.``

What is your role, and can you tell us a little about it?

I am Site Administrator at our Wigan Site. I do a lot with Health & Safety, time sheets, agency staff and a little bit of everything else.

How long have you worked for Torque?

I have worked for Torque for over 3 years now.

What do you love most about your job?

All the different challenges, there is no day the same. I love that this role requires all different skills on a daily basis. Staff come to me with payroll, HR and Health and Safety questions all the time as we do not have these departments based in Wigan, so staff come to see me first if they need anything.

How did you progress into your current role?

I started working for Torque as a Warehouse Administrator for our Gorilla Glue contract, I then progressed to Team Leader – after a few months in to my new role my manager offered me this position as he had spoken to my then Supervisor who suggested me as a good administrator!

What invaluable thing have you learnt in your role?

I have been on a few courses and seminars whilst working for Torque, the latest one I have completed was my Fire Marshall training, I have also done IOSH managing a safely course, first aid, dangerous goods training and been to seminars.

What one piece of advice you would give someone who is interested in a similar job?

Be prepared to deal with anything that comes your way. If you are not prepared, be prepared to learn on the way.

Can you tell us the funniest or most interesting thing to happen to you at work?

Every day is fun and interesting, especially working with such great managers.

How do you think Torque go the extra mile for their customers?

We are continuously looking at what we are doing and seeing how we can improve it.

Will you share a fun fact about yourself?

In my teens I used to compete in air riffle target shooting competitions.

If you could invite 3 people (alive or dead) to a dinner party you were hosting, who would they be, and why would you invite them?

Arnold Schwarzenegger, I think he is a very interesting and charismatic person, great actor and politician with many achievements.

Dwayne Johnson – currently my favourite actor.

My Dad – as I haven’t seen him for a while now.
