Simplified (CFSP) procedures

For CFSP authorised traders Torque provides a management service which accommodates Customs deadlines for the submission of Simplified declarations of all types.

Torque Customs warehouses

We have Customs warehouses at two sites. These provide for the medium and long-term storage of goods without the payment of duty or VAT.

Customer Customs warehouse management

We provide a comprehensive service to customers who have their own Customs Warehouse authorisations and wish to manage receipts and removals using CFSP procedures. Our duty management software interfaces with all major warehouse management systems to provide a seamless solution that is particularly appropriate to the needs of customers with multiple daily warehouse transactions.

Inland Clearance Depot (ICD)

Torque operates an ICD at our headquarters site. This permits us to transport sea freight consignments from the port of arrival under Customs control for clearance on our own premises. In this way our customers avoid both port congestion and Customs clearance delays.

Enhanced Remote Transit Sheds (ERTS)

The ERTS is the airfreight equivalent of an ICD. We operate ERTS facilities at our Leeds and London Heathrow sites. Consignments are transferred from the receiving airlines’ facilities for Customs clearance on our own premises providing control of both costs and the clearance process.

IPR & OPR reporting & management

IPR and OPR Customs facilitation measures are intended to remove or reduce the duty burden on goods that are temporarily imported or exported. Torque provides services that ensure the obligatory documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner for customers authorised by Customs to operate these facilities.

Customs connectivity

Torque ensures the most effective processing of import and export declarations by subscribing to direct electronic links to CHIEF, the Customs central computer system, and the inventory systems of the major ports and airports. These links are integral to our bespoke Customs brokerage software.

Skills base & audits

All import and export declarations are processed by our highly skilled operations teams. Our staff receive both internal training and training provided by accredited external sources, to the highest possible standards. Weekly internal audits of import and export declarations are a feature of our quality assurance measures. All Customs activities are overseen by a dedicated Customs manager who is available to provide assistance to clients and staff alike.

Duty costing

For those clients who wish to establish duty levied at item level, we can provide reporting and analysis indicating the amount of duty paid per individual item imported.
